AERODYNAMICS OF A TURBULENT DIFFUSION FLAME JET IN A WAKE FLOW,

Abstract

A study is made of the aerodynamics of a turbulent diffusion flame jet developing in a homogeneous wake flow. A second extremum (minimum) is found in the dynamic head profiles. The nature of the effect of the wake-flow velocity on the structure of the flame is clarified. The experimental results can be explained on the basis of the general theory of free turbulence in an isobaric flow. (Author)
