NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST METHODS FOR REINFORCED PLASTIC/COMPOSITE MATERIALS,

Abstract

A review is presented of various methods for nondestructive testing (NDT) of reinforced plastic/composite materials and structures. Visual inspections, ultrasonic methods, sonic methods, radiography, electrical properties, microwave techniques, thermal techniques, and other NDT methods are examined with regard to their characteristics, instrumentation, utility, and limitations. Recent developments are also discussed. (Author)
