THE LOGICAL DESIGN OF A GRAPHICS INTERFACE,

Abstract

Considerable work is being conducted in the area of computer measurements. An instrumentation computer is being designed which will make measurements on other computers. As a peripheral device to record certain types of data in graphical form, a graphics station was designed and implemented. This thesis concerns the logic design of a graphics interface unit which serves to link a display unit to a computer. Contained within is information describing graphics instructions, CPU orders, interrupt facilities, slave scopes, and keyboard. The logic design is described as well as the hardware components used to implement the graphics station. Finally, a few software application programs are described. (Author)
