DYNAMIC BEHAVIOUR OF SHIP STRUCTURES.

Abstract

The vibrations of rectangular, isotropic and orthotropic plates with different boundary conditions on the outer edges were studied for the following interior conditions: (1) a cutout in the interior, (2) a clamped area in the interior, and (3) a cutout reinforced along the edges. Solutions were obtained by the use of double infinite series, finite difference methods, finite element methods, and reflection methods. Frequencies and mode shapes are presented in numerical and graphical form. (Author)
