ON VISCOUS WEDGE-FLOW,

Abstract

Laminar incompressible flow past a wedge is studied by employing optimal coordinates in the full Navier-Stokes equations. The resulting boundary value problem is solved approximately by an iterative method for large distances away from the wedge tip. Attempts to analyse the flow close to the wedge tip are also included. In particular, eigenvalues and eigenfunctions for Stokes flow are given in the optimal coordinates. Furthermore, a perturbation procedure for large wedge-angles is considered leading to an approximate local solution. (Author)
