RECRUIT REACTIONS TO EARLY ARMY EXPERIENCE

Abstract

The paper reports a study made during 1960-62 in relation to possible changes in Army induction processing, early orientation, and basic training. The ultimate goal was to determine means of improving motivation, morale, and attitudes of the Army recruit. The major findings--which apply to 1960-62 and have not been updated to reflect changes in the manpower pool, Army training, Army personnel policies, and other important matters since that time are reported.
