NEW SPECIES FOR STUDIES IN COMPARATIVE NEUROPHYSIOLOGY AND ETHOLOGY.

Abstract

Insects are well known as suitable objects for neurophysiological and ethological studies. The investigation presented deals with two topics in the field of insect behavior and insect neurophysiology: With a description of the different sounds in some tropical Tettigonids; and with the function of command fibres in the ventral nerve cord of males of Gastrimargus africanus (Oedipodinae) studied by splitting techniques.
