ON THE INTERACTION BETWEEN MATTER AND RADIATION.

Abstract

It is argued that in describing the interaction between radiation and matter the dynamical account should not be confined to specification of occupation numbers corresponding to the normal modes, but that the specification of the relevant modes is itself a part of the dynamics. This viewpoint is developed by investigation of a model. (Author)
