FALLOUT MODEL ANALYSIS.

Abstract

The report presents a comparison of the fallout radiation predictions of six fallout prediction models. The comparison is presented by graphs of the downwind extent of the radiation contours predicted for four hypothetical burst conditions. The TINCAN model was developed into a fractionation fallout prediction constant wind model, and is presented in detail in this report. This includes the model analysis, programming details, program flow charts, and the computer program. The TINCAN model was used to obtain a sensitivity study on the effects of various parameters on predicted exposure rate values. The parameters varied were cloud height, particle settling rate function, particle frequency distribution, refractory activity mass fractions, and cloud radius. The sensitive parameters were the refractory mass fractions, particle frequency distribution, and cloud radius. (Author)
