CRITICAL PARAMETERS OF ALKALI METALS,

Abstract

The generalization of data on heat exchange in the two-phase region and on critical heat fluxes of alkali metals can be made on the basis of the theory of thermodynamic similarity and the knowledge of critical parameters. An analysis of existing methods for calculating the critical parameters shows that these methods are related to empirical functions resulting from thermo-dynamic similarity. Therefore, the most proper method for calculating the critical parameters from the van der Waals constants is to take into account the dimerization of vapor. Such critical parameters make it possible to obtain the generalized expressions for the heat of vaporization, surface tension, and vapor pressure. (Author)
