DESIGN OF A PRESSURE TRANSDUCER FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF PRESSING FORCES,

Abstract

The transducer described operates at pressing rates of up to 300 mm/sec. Two foil gages are glued on the inside of the unit and there are two other compensation gages; tests of the transducer were conducted on a 1500 ton press. A formula gives the deformation of the transducer pot as a function of the current and sensitivity; equations are given for calculating the values of the circumferential and longitudinal stresses in the transducer pot.
