MOTIVATIONAL TYPES AMONG COLLEGE STUDENTS.
Abstract
College students were related to one another over a variety of measures associated with motivation to study in college. The inverse factor analysis of these relationships revealed ten motivational types. Data for 12 hypothetical students, entering the analysis as an extension matrix, helped to interpret the types found among the real students. In a table of results, the average value on each measure for students of each type has been compared with the average value for students who were found to be the opposites of each type. (Author)
