NATURAL STRAINS AND STRESSES FOR TRAPEZOIDAL STRUCTURES ANALYSIS.

Abstract

The paper presents a tool to study the tapered structures by the direct stiffness method. It appears that a natural coordinate system is convenient to simplify the boundary conditions and in consequence the analytic calculations. The development of a particular element is taken as example and illustrated in details: the tapered spar. By means of the special coordinate system the conformity with the already developed cover sheets (quadratic elements, linear elements) is easily realized. (Author)
