ADHESIVES IN MACHINE CONSTRUCTION,

Abstract

After listing the advantages and disadvantages of glue-welded joints in machine design and some salient characteristics of various glues, the author reviews the proceedings of the First Moscow Conference on this subject. In all, 42 reports were delivered on the theory of gluing, new synthetic glues for cold and hot hardening, metallic glues, methods for gluing, stability, reliability, and lasting qualitites of glued joints, pre-gluing surface preparation, and production and inspection methods for gluing porous surfaces.
