ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE-CHARGE INTERACTION IN CROSSED FIELDS.

Abstract

The purpose of the work on this contract is to investigate the interaction of a electromagnetic waves and charge carriers in vacuum and solids. The construction of a crossed-field amplifier which will incorporate the results of the noise studies is in progress. Work on the crossed-field gun design method developed by R. A. Rao is being carried on to obtain designs for magnetically shielded guns. An experimental and theoretical evaluation of the crossed-field acoustic- wave amplifier is being conducted. (Author)
