A MICROFILM SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING THE DISSEMINATION OF NAVY OCCUPATIONAL INFORMATION TO RECRUITS: A FEASIBILITY STUDY.

Abstract

The research evaluated the feasibility of a microfilm system for providing information about Navy ratings to recruits and evaluated the adequacy of Navy job information presently being given to recruits. Additionally it provided information about (a) what job information is considered most important, (b) the effectiveness of different ways of learning about Navy occupations, and (c) the recruits' expressed satisfaction regarding job assignments. The microfilm system investigated was considered too costly for implementation in recruit training at present. A recommendation for tryout and evaluation of a simplified microfilm method was made.
