OPTIMIZATION STUDY REPORT ON BASE LEVEL ANALYZER. VOLUME 1

Abstract

The report establishes the specification and design of a simplified Base Level Analyzer (Lubricant - Contamination) that is capable of repeatable high accuracy when operated by Air Force personnel under all anticipated service conditions. The report includes a complete analysis of the proposed design, which is supported by data, graphs, drawings, and illustrations for clarification. The results of the optimization study show that the design that most closely meets all the Base Level Analyzer requirements is a 1-meter emission grating spectrometer that uses a constant digital reference technique, digital data processing, and all solid state electronics.
