CONVEXITY AND CONTINUITY PROPERTIES OF PREFERENCE FUNCTIONS.

Abstract

The paper studies the convexity properties of the preferences of a perfectly competitive economy. The results are used to establish a relation between two alternative types of continuity of preferences used by R. Aumann and K. Vind. The discussion is related to the problem of establishing conditions for the equivalence of two kinds of blocking used in the definition of the core of an economy. (Author)
