AUTOMATIC PLOTTING OF ROOT LOCUS DIAGRAMS,

Abstract

The Report describes a technique to examine the transfer function of an electrical network in which one parameter is variable. The locus of the poles and zeros of this function are plotted in the plane of the complex Laplace transform variable for discrete values of this parameter. This technique is valuable when examining the effects of tolerances on the performance of circuits and when deducing the inherent limitations of their response to a given input signal. The program is written in Algol for an Elliott 4130 computer. (Author)
