PREPARATION OF ARTILLERY WEAPONS FOR FIRING,

Abstract

This report presents the principles of the structure and operation of the principal mechanisms of artillery weapons, and also lists the purposes of the mechanisms, the requirements placed upon them and their testing in the preparation of weapons for firing. The sequence involved in preparation of sighting devices, checking zero settings and the line of sighting at zero settings of several mechanical and optical sights is outlined. Also, this report briefly analyzes the problem of preparation of weapons for the march. The report is designed to increase the military technical knowledge of artillery noncommissioned officers and enlisted men and the junior officers of other branches of the army. (Author)
