SYNTHESIS OF CERTAIN LINEAR AND CYCLIC S-OXIDES OF DISULFIDES (THIOSULFONATES),

Abstract

The paper describes the synthesis of five linear and cyclic esters of thiosulfinic acids (thiosulfonates) containing a sulfosodium group. They can be quantitatively determined by using the ability of the thiosulfonates to oxidize hydrogen iodide to iodine. The reaction of the S-oxides of bis (2-sodium sulfoethyl) disulfide with cysteine produced 2,2-carboxyaminoethyl-2-sulfoethyl disulfide. (Author)
