RELATION OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES TO THE STRUCTURE OF IONIC SOLIDS.

Abstract

The need for employing the Lang's x-ray topographic technique for delineating the dislocations which lie and operate in the basal plane of mica is emphasized. The application of this technique to a low-symmetry material like mica, needs special attention. The basic principles involved, the experimental details, as well as some preliminary results obtained with muscovite mica are presented. (Author)
