THE ELECTRON CONTENT IN THE POLAR F-REGION.

Abstract

Some results of electron content measurements in the polar F-region are presented. There is an enhancement of electron content close to local geomagnetic noon in the latitude interval 76 - 80N. There are indications of a maximum in electron content close to 2000 UT at 78N in winter. Total electron content variations with geomagnetic activity is unclear. It seems that connected with micropulsation events there is almost always a rapid and large increase in electron content. (Author)
