INVESTIGATION OF IMPROVED METHODS FOR SPLICING MAGNETIC RECORDING TAPE,
Abstract
Ultrasonic splices were investigated for reliability of splicing techniques. Life tests involving 48 splices indicated a minimum operating life expectancy of 15 hours. An improvement over the glue-type splice by a factor of 30 was noted.
