Abstract

The report discusses details of the design and functioning of a diesel tractor engine consisting of four cylinders, electric starter, magneto, governor, air cleaner, first and second stage oil filters, crank case breather, etc. Procedures to be followed when operating the engine under different climatic conditions are specified. Types of coolants, fuels, and lubricants to be used at various engine points are detailed. Servicing procedures ranging from daily shift use to 1000 hours of operation are outlined.
