PERSONNEL POLICIES--1980

Abstract

The document is concerned with the role of the manager and administrator of the future. Management's ability to stay one jump ahead of change is called the most important factor for successful future operations. Many administrators are said to be behind-the-scenes citizens in universities and research organizations, operating strictly as staff and service people, while life revolves around the faculty member or scientist. This passive role is viewed as being outmoded by new dynamic requirements of the future.
