TESTS OF BLENDS OF PORTLAND CEMENT WITH MASONRY CEMENT.

Abstract

An investigation was conducted to determine the suitability of masonry cement blended with portland cement for use in concrete construction. Tests were made on three types of commercially manufactured masonry cements; one with a limestone base, one with a natural cement base, and one with a water-quenched blast-furnace slag base. The investigation included the making of physical and chemical tests on the portland and masonry cements alone and in blends, in pastes, mortars, and concrete. (Author)
