THE CAVITATION TUBE OF THE CENTRAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, PLANNING AND DESIGN BOILER AND TURBINE INSTITUTE,

Abstract

The reasons for the creation of the high-speed cavitation tube are given, and the basic units are described. The cavitation tube makes it possible to study (for the first time in the practice of Soviet water-turbine building) the scale effects in cavitation, the conditions for the formation and development of various forms of cavitation, and the effects of these types of cavitation (bubble, film, and detached) on the hydrodynamic characteristics of profiles.
