ECM-ORIENTED PENETRATION MODEL: SINGLE AIRCRAFT, SINGLE RADAR.

Abstract

This report describes a logical, event-oriented model developed as part of a continuing effort under the overall direction of the Systems Evaluation Division, Naval Missile Center, Point Mugu, California. Whereas the more general effort is directed toward the effects of electronic-countermeasures (ECM) equipment and tactics on total mission success, the model discussed herein focuses upon but one phase of the mission, detection of an approaching aircraft by early-warning radar. The model is limited to a single aircraft and a single search radar, with special emphasis on the interrelationships between airborne ECM equipment and the land-based radar. (Author)
