A SEMI-INFINITE DIPOLE ANTENNA DRIVEN FROM A COAXIAL GUIDE BY A TE sub 11 MODE.

Abstract

The subject of the report is the problem of a semi-infinite dipole antenna driven in an azimuthally asymmetric manner by a TE sub 11 mode in a coaxial guide. An exact solution is obtained by the Wiener-Hopf technique and expressions derived for the reflection coefficient of the TE sub 11 mode, the directive gain, and the currents on the various conducting surfaces. Plots of the reflection coefficient, current distributions, and directive gain are presented and discussed. (Author)
