MECHANICS OF VISCOELASTIC MEDIA,

Abstract

The state of the art in the theory of viscoelastic solids presented in this review is based on 258 Soviet and non-Soviet publications. The review is devoted to investigations concerning the behavior under load of elastic solids with memory, in which the effect of prior states on the succeeding ones is accounted for by introducing linear and nonlinear functionals. The equations and methods used in solving these problems are critically analyzed, and the materials are divided into four chapters. (Author)
