TRANSMISSION DATA, PPI/RHI, STANDARD TELEPHONE WIRE WD-1.

Abstract

For many years the weight, cost, and bulk of cables necessary for the operation of radar data transmission have been of major concern. This report discusses a method of surmounting these problems by the use of a single pair of field Wires WD-1. A method is outlined of simultaneously transmitting all data necessary for the operation of a remote equipment, on a single line, up to a distance of one mile with negligible degradation, while presenting the data in real time. The body of this report discusses in detail a technique in which field wire WD-1 can be used as a high quality transmission medium of high-speed pulses or video signals. (Author)
