THE EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE ON THE MOLECULAR FORCES OF ATTRACTION BETWEEN CONDENSED BODIES (Vliyanie Temperatury na Molekulyarnye Sily Prityazheniya Mezhdu Kondensirovannymi Telami),

Abstract

In a preceding paper, there were presented the results of a theory developed by the author for the molecular forces of attraction between condensed bodies, which referred to the case, when the temperature of solids T was considered as equal to zero. Proceeding from a general formula defining the force of interaction for arbitrary distances between surfaces, a study was made, in part, of the limiting cases of the distances for large and small (as compared with the basic wavelengths) waves lambda, which take part in the absorption spectrum of the specified solids.
