INFRARED TRANSMITTING MATERIALS.

Abstract

The report deals with the infrared transmitting properties of fluorite structure oxides and the heavy metal covalent oxides of bismuth and lead. Transmission data for single crystal ThO2 are given. IR data are presented for orthorhombic and tetragonal PbO, for SrPbO3 and Sr2PbO4, and for alpha-Bi2O3 and PbO.6Bi2O3. Near infrared spectra for the lead and bismuth oxide are also given. (Author)
