A COMPARISON OF FIVE NUMERICAL METHODS FOR SOLVING POLYNOMIAL EQUATIONS WITH REAL COEFFICIENTS.

Abstract

The report describes and compares five numerical methods for finding the zeros of polynomials having real coefficients. It is designed to serve as an aid to anyone desiring to study currently favored methods in this area and as a guide to those who must select a method for their own computational use. It includes a detailed description of each of the five methods and a comparison of the actual computational effectiveness of those methods. (Author)
