ENVIRON: AN ON-LINE DOODLEPAD FOR PLANNERS.

Abstract

The report describes an exploratory study into the role and operation of an interactive display-oriented computer as an aid in the formulation and structuring of poorly defined problems. The approach is extremely pragmatic. A 'toy' system, Environ-1, was implemented. The conclusion of this study is that passive Environ-like systems can play a significant part in a planner's tool kit. Further research in the area of on-line systems to support the ongoing dialogue of a team of planners is recommended. (Author)
