DRYING OF POTATOES IN A FLUIDIZED BED AT HIGH FREQUENCY OSCILLATIONS,

Abstract

A method is described for drying potatoes in a fluidized bed using high-frequency oscillation. Equipment designed for this purpose is described and data are presented which establish optimal conditions. Results of physicochemical tests performed immediately after drying and after three months of storage showed no significant changes in comparison to control samples dried in a stationary bed. It is proposed that semi-commercial equipment be made in light of the high efficiency of this process. (Author)
