Abstract

At the time of the present document, the most extensive mapping of the lunar surface in the far infrared has been accomplished during the 19 December 1964 eclipse. The present report is confined to a brief description of these measurements and presents several examples of the various methods used for analyzing the data. The thermal contours obtained from one of the scan programs obtained during totality are displayed. Some of the general characteristics of the anomalies noted are presented. (Author)
