A SYSTEMS SOLUTION TO THE TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL PROBLEMS CONFRONTING AN INTERNATIONAL EDUCOM AND COMPUTER NETWORK SYSTEM UTILIZING SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS.

Abstract

The study concerns a real time, on line, duplex data processing global communications systems. It establishes the system cost-effectiveness and feasibility of a multi-satellite global service. Service could be offered to 128 users at data rates up to 290,000 bits per second with bit error probably of one part in 100,000 using powered battery pack electronics and a two foot terminal antenna. Equivalently duplex computer to computer simultaneous service is competitive and feasible. (Author)
