ON CERTAIN MOTIONS WITH CONSTANT STRETCH HISTORY AND THEIR RELATED VELOCITY PROFILES IN INCOMPRESSIBLE NEWTONIAN AND SECOND ORDER FLUIDS.

Abstract

Seven motions with constant stretch history of which three are viscometric flows, two are doubly superposed viscometric flows and the remaining two are triply superposed viscometric flows are considered and their velocity profiles are determined for incompressible Newtonian and second order fluids. A description of a helical-torsional flow rheometer is also given and this device can be used to determine the material functions occurring in doubly superposed viscometric flows. (Author)
