STRUCTURE OF LOW LYING STATES IN A=15 NUCLEI,

Abstract

States in 15O up to 8.32 MeV excitation have been studied in the 14N(3He,d)15O reaction at 14 MeV. States in 15N up to 6.33 MeV excitation were observed in the reaction 14C(3He,d)15N at the same energy. Angular distributions were measured between 10 degrees and 40 degrees lab, and l values and spectroscopic factors were obtained by comparison with DW calculations. The results have been compared with the results of several calculations for A = 14 ground state wave functions. Spectroscopic factors for transitions to even parity states in A = 15 nuclei are in excellent agreement with calculations of Halbert and French. (Author)
