A DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM TO IMPROVE THE BROADBANDING OF HIGH POWER AMPLIFIER KLYSTRONS.

Abstract

Both VA-962s, the high power tubes, were built and evaluated. The feasibility tube, VA-962 No. 1, evidenced some degradation of performance from that expected. The performance of VA-962 No. 2, however, indicates that all requirements for the 16 kW (high power) tube can be met. The life test tube (VA-961 No. 2) is still being operated with no apparent degradation of performance. (Author)
