RESEARCH INVESTIGATION OF PICOSECOND OPTICAL PULSE TECHNOLOGY.

Abstract

Discussed is work on adiabatic inversion with frequency swept light pulses, propagation characteristics of ultrashort light pulses in resonant media and mode-locking of organic dye lasers. The possibility of obtaining coherent radiation from laser produced plasmas is of great interest and some preliminary experimental and theoretical investigations of this possibility have been carried out. In addition, some experiments to obtain super radiant emission from organic dyes were conducted. (Author)
