TRANSPARENCY AND COLOR OF WATER IN THE APSHERONSK AREA OF THE CASPIAN SEA (Prozrachnost i Tsvet Vody v Apsheronskom Rayone Kaspiiskogo Morya),
Abstract
The paper discusses the data characterizing the regime of transparency and color of sea water in the Apsheronsk area of the Caspian Sea. The data are based on observations conducted by a special expedition organized by the State Oceanographic Institute in 1950/1951. They illustrate the regularities in the distribution and variation of transparency and color of water in space and with time, which are determined by variations of hydrometeorological conditions in the region.
