SHRIMP CONCERTO (Kontsert Krevetok),

Abstract

Biological noises which are produced by various marine animals are briefly discussed, pointing out their protective significance for submarines, which is increased by physical noises of water movement in the sea. Large-scale concertos of drummer fishes are cited as an example of interference in the operation of hydroacoustic instruments tuned to detect the presence of submarines. (Author)
