FISH AND WHALE LOCATION (Rybolokatsiya i Kitolokatsiya),

Abstract

Equipment used for detecting and tracing schools of fishes and whales is briefly described, with an evaluation of its usefulness. Ways of eliminating interferences created by the movement and position of ship and wave action are discussed. It appears that submerged instruments have certain advantages to those installed in ships, because they are little affected by external interferences and record more precisely the concentrations of marine animals.
