SPECTRAL INHOMOGENEITIES OF THE LUNAR SURFACE IN THE MIDDLE ULTRAVIOLET, FROM THE DATA OF AUTOMATIC INTERPLANETARY STATION 'ZOND 3',

Abstract

The paper describes color inhomogeneities of the far side of the Moon, using measurements made from Automatic Interplanetary Station 'Zond 3'. The investigated region of the Moon subdivides, according to mean brightness, into three distinct fields. The maximal color contrasts between individual areas studied amount to 24%; the mean color-contrasts 10%. (Author)
