AN EXPERIMENT IN UTILIZATION OF RELATIVE PROBABILITIES OF WEATHER CONDITIONS WHEN DETERIORATIONS OCCUR.

Abstract

Conditional climatology tables for three hour initial time blocks have been rerun from hourly surface data tapes from the 3WW library. The initial program was modified to exclude considerations of all 24 hour succeeding time-periods unless at least one observation in that 24 hour period deteriorated to lower category. Effects of the ever-present diurnal cycle and relative timing which may be deduced are studied in detail. (Author)
