PROGRESS IN THE SOLUTION OF THE PROBLEM OF A THREE-DIMENSIONAL BODY OSCILLATING IN THE PRESENCE OF A FREE SURFACE

Abstract

The report presents formulas for the rapid evaluation of the potential and potential gradient due to an oscillating point source near a free surface. Also presented are expressions that represent the integrals of these formulas over a general plane quadrilateral. These expressions could form the basis of a computer program for solving the title problem, and the general features of such a method of solution are outlined.
