A FORTRAN SUBROUTINE TO FIND THE REAL ZEROS OF A SINGLE-VALUED FUNCTION OF ONE REAL VARIABLE.

Abstract

A subroutine has been written in Fortran for the CDC 3600/3800 Computer to find the real zeros of a single-valued function of one real variable by a modified Method of False Position. It finds within a specified tolerance delta those points x sub i along a given closed interval (a,b) for which the functional value f(x sub i) satisfies: the absolute value of (f(x sub i)) < delta. Each point and the corresponding functional value are stored in a table. (Author)
